At BridgeChile, we care about your progress and know that quality teachers are a fundamental part of how quickly you’ll learn Spanish. All of our teachers have university degrees and have been especially trained in our unique methodology. They are selected for their outgoing and dynamic personalities, their patience, creativity, friendliness and most importantly, for their enthusiasm for teaching.

As you can see from the following selected profiles of a few of our Spanish instructors, our qualified teaching staff comes from a variety of backgrounds. What they have in common is a passion for teaching and a genuine interest in sharing their language and culture with you.

Maria Angélica Tapia
María Angélica has been with BridgeChile since 1993, teaching Spanish, English and French. She is the school’s most worldly teacher, having lived 18 years abroad. She has taught Spanish and English in many places, including the Chilean Embassy in Morocco, an agency of the United Nations in Kenya, several universities in France, and a high school in Cameroon.

Maria Angélica enjoys teaching her native language as she is able to meet people from different countries and cultures. She also likes being able to open a door to a new culture for her students. In her free time, Maria Angélica is an avid tennis player and a talented painter.

Liliana Blanco
Lily has been teaching Spanish and English at BridgeChile since we first opened our doors in Santiago. She studied Spanish and English Education at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, and truly enjoys sharing her language and culture with students.

A vivacious teacher, Lily says that one of the greatest rewards is when her Spanish students thank her after their course for having taught them so much. In her off- hours she enjoys barbecues, fiestas, and getting together with friends. Lily also loves to sing and dance and has even been known to teach the national folk dance, the Cueca, at students' request.

Silvio Costa
Silvio has been teaching Spanish, English and French at BridgeChile since 1991. He received his degree in French Education in Montpellier, France and in English Education in Santiago. Silvio loves teaching Spanish and particularly enjoys the sense of accomplishment he receives when he see his students progress. He is very knowledgeable about Chile and Chilean culture and makes a great guide on the excursions we offer.

In his free, time Silvio loves to listen to music, to watch TV, and to read—in four different languages! He often has a dictionary in his hand because he is always expanding his knowledge of languages.

Paulina González
Paulina studied Literature and Linguistics at
the Universidad Católica. She has taught both Spanish and English at BridgeChile since 2001. One of the reasons she enjoys teaching Spanish so much is because she has the opportunity to share knowledge of both her language and culture with her students. In her free time she enjoys practicing yoga, going to new restaurants in Santiago, and reading.

Patricia Gamonal
Patricia has been teaching Spanish at BridgeChile since 2004. She was born in Santiago, Chile, but was raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She studied Spanish Education at Universidad Católica de Chile and after graduation was selected to participate in the International Youth Culture and Study Tour to Taiwan, where she met people from all over the world. Later, she went to Barcelona, Spain, to pursue her MA in Communication and Education.

Patricia enjoys teaching Spanish because she learns something every day from her students. She is also a successful graphic designer and in her free time likes to paint, swim, do yoga, go camping, dance merengue, go to the movies, and, most of all, travel.
